Spring in Myrtle Beach means plenty of sunshine, warmer weather and best of all – outdoor festivals! This month there will be more than the smell of salt in the air by the ocean! There will be the aromas of delicious food floating through the air as The Myrtle Beach Food Truck Festival is back for its second year. This three day festival will feature local restaurants and take place oceanfront between Burroughs & Chapin Pavilion Place, located between 8th and 9th Avenues North in Myrtle Beach.

Although we don’t have a traditional food truck, we’ll be there in true Strong Waters Bar fashion, putting our own Lowcountry flavor and twist on your typical street-style food truck fare. Chef Javaughn has prepared a special menu in honor of the festival and you can find us under a tent with our speakeasy-inspired decor serving up four different delicious, easy to eat menu items. The first is a BBQ pulled pork taco – Carolina style – with homemade coleslaw. The second is a fan favorite from the Shared menu – our Shrimp and Grits Soul Rolls. Putting a coastal flair on your typical street corn, we’ll be serving up a Crab Street Corn. It’s grilled corn with extra goodies including lump crab, cotija cheese and more generously sprinkled on top. We’re introducing a new item at the festival, Tuna Poke, in anticipation of getting some feedback from the crowd. And depending on the verdict – who knows – next time you dine with us you might just see it on the menu!

Not only will there be plenty of tasty food to sample at the festival, but a full line-up of live entertainment, beer tents and a Kidz Zone. Get ready to dance the day away or bring a lawn chair or blanket and relax to the list of live entertainment includes popular local bands such as Tru Sol, Paul Grimshaw Band, DJ Jason, The Bounty Hunters, Trial By Fire – Journey Tribute Band, Dave Matthews Tribute Band and Living on a Bad Name – Bon Jovi Tribute Band. You can also try your hand at the Cornhole Tournament or check out the Junior Beach Volleyball Tournament. And for the little ones in the group there will be a giant Kidz Zone with bounce houses, carnival games, inflatable slides, a rock climb and more!

Come out and get a taste of the coast at this year’s Myrtle Beach Food Truck Festival! If you’ve been meaning to stop by and check out Strong Waters Craft Cocktails and Kitchen – this is the perfect opportunity to sample some of our delicious Lowcountry cuisine with a twist. We look forward to seeing you for a flavor-filled weekend!
