In Myrtle Beach, fall is synonymous with food festivals. As the weather cools down, our grills at Strong Waters Craft Cocktails and Kitchen are heating up as we prepare for the two fall food festivals we’re participating in. We’re going to be serving up our Lowcountry cuisine with a twist at both the Myrtle Beach Seafood Festival and the Taste of the Town.
The Myrtle Beach Seafood Festival is back for its third year and will take place October 5th – 7th. Located at Burroughs & Chapin Pavilion Place, this three day festival showcases the restaurants around the Grand Strand featuring one of the main things we’re known for – seafood. Not only is there plenty of delicious food but event goers can expect to find live entertainment, two beer stations, a kids zone and on Saturday – both a car show and corn hole tournament. We’ve never participated in this festival before, but we’re looking forward to preparing a dish or two featuring the fresh local seafood we use daily in our restaurant.
This will be our second year participating in the Taste of the Town. Held on Tuesday, October 9th, this culinary competition event lets you sample various appetizers, entrees and desserts from restaurants all along the Grand Strand. There will be plenty of live music as well as a beer garden to gather between samplings. Throughout the night judges are walking around critiquing each dish as restaurants compete for everything from Best Entree, Dessert, Booth Design to People’s Choice and Kid’s Choice Awards. Last year, we featured our twist on key lime pie and ended up taking up the award for People’s Choice Award for best dessert! We’re still concocting the dish we’ll feature this year in hopes of snagging another award.
Both of these delicious food festivals are a great way for us to support local events. Plus – it allows our loyal guests a taste of a new dish and those customers who have never heard of us, try a little taste of what we’re all about.
Not only are we looking forward to these upcoming food events, but the flavors of the season have arrived at Strong Waters Bar on 21 and Ocean. Our chef is utilizing the seasonal herbs and spices in our dishes and those autumn ingredients are even finding their way into our cocktails. We’re concocting flavorful fall handcrafted cocktails to sip on as well as featuring our pumpkin and seasonal ales. We have Southern Tier Pumking on draft, which if you mix with the earthy spiciness and caramel tones of the Sugar Creek Dubbel – you’ll discover a delicious pint we’ve deemed the ‘Double Pumpkin’.
We hope you come support us at the upcoming Myrtle Beach Seafood Festival and Taste of the Town where we’ll be featuring our ‘Farm to Table’ dishes that are the local bee’s knees!
